Shannon Aldborough - Salon Barber
Hello, my name is Shannon.
I am the salon barber at Esteem Hair and I specialise in clipper work, beard trims, skin fades and creative patterns.
I have been in the industry since 2012. Within that time I have gained experience in both hairdressing and barbering.
I started my career by doing an apprenticeship where I completed my NVQ levels 1, 2 and 3. I then spent a year with our Wella master colour expert "Nicole" and completed my creative colour and colour correction.
I really enjoy getting creative so colours have always been something I have thoroughly enjoyed!
2016 is when I found my passion for barbering.
I took part in some one on one training within a barbershop where I then became a master barber. I enjoyed learning new skills and expanding my knowledge within barbering which I think helped me grow as an all round hairdresser/barber.
In 2017 I was chosen to be a barber within Norwich fashion week. Taking part in this pushed me completely out of my comfort zone as we were given a very strict theme to stick to. I got to work behind stage cutting and styling the models hair and then got to watch my work being flanted on the catwalk. This has to be one of the best things I have done as it has pushed me to expand my imagination within my work.
I love working at Esteem as it has allowed me to be both a barber and a hairdresser. Having this variety within my work has always been something I enjoy and allows me to try out new techniques.
